Dennis Massar – is a passionate dancer, choreographer, and dance teacher with a unique voice in contemporary dance. He became deaf at a young age and has worn cochlear implants since childhood. He graduated from the dance academy of ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, where he developed into a contemporary dancer, creator, and teacher.
Dennis works both nationally and internationally and dances for the inclusive ConCuerpos Dance Company, among others. He has previously performed with Stichting Schippers & van Gught, 20Hertz, Move to Meet, and Coloured Creatures. His work focuses on accessibility, inclusion, and connection.
As a choreographer, Dennis draws inspiration from sign language—not as a translation, but as an artistic starting point. His choreographies tell visibly moving stories, beyond words. Within dance inclusion, he focuses on people with hearing impairments and creates space for new talent and expression.
Dennis previously collaborated with Futurists during the Fish Dance research residency.
