Aleksej Ovsiannikov – actor and theatre maker. In 2024, Aleksej was seen as a performer for Marina Abramovic at the Stedelijk Museum. In 2021, he graduated from the Mime Department at the Amsterdam University of the Arts with his own work: Annihilation – I reduce to nothing. He also previously completed the KleinKunst Department Selma Susanna. Aleksej’s own graduation performance Annihilation – I reduce to nothing was picked up by Het Debuut (Via Rudolphi) and immediately received a national tour. De Theaterkrant wrote: ‘In three very different scenes he puts down a wonderful performance.’ – Moos van den Broek. Other original work is: (.) Boslab – Amsterdams Bostheater and ZERO – video installation (exhibited for three nights in the AHK building at Waterlooplein. After that, Aleksej also played in productions by Boukje Schweigmann, Karina Holla, Wild Vlees, Dries Verhoeven, Marcello de Evelien and Davy Pieters, among others.
Film/Television:
In 2017, Aleksej was seen in Brussels, directed by Arno Dierikx of KPN & Endemol. In 2018, he played one of the leading roles in Free Fight, directed by Sven Bresser by IJswater Films. In 2021, he played in Flikken Rotterdam, directed by Annemarie van de Mond and was then seen in Der Amsterdam Krimi, directed by Ismail Sahin. In 2023, Aleksej played the leading role in the film MELK, directed by Stefanie Kolk, Lemming Film. Aleksej had a role in the series Onopgelost, which was released on Videoland last season, and he can be seen in the second season of Sihame, expected to be released this summer.
In Free Fight by Sven Bresser was nominated for a Golden Calf in the category Best Actor in a Television Drama. The film MELK, in which Aleksej played the leading role, was nominated for four Golden Calves.
Alexei previously collaborated with Futurists on the prototype of A. VR movie.
