Jerzy Bielski mainly works on interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with choreographers, stage directors, sonic artists, filmmakers, and painters. Besides, he is a long time composer and leader of a 9-piece international group Circuit , which plays an eclectic mix of many different styles, consistently moving along the border of “somewhere in between”, not making it easy for anyone trying to describe or understand what they play.
Jerzy Bielski is an artist in residence at Gaudeamus Foundation for the next two years, thanks to the “New Maker” programme of Performing Arts Fund NL. He has also received scholarships and funding from Musici van Morgen, Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Royaumont Foundation (France), Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst, and Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
He was invited to present his work at: National Arts Festival (S. Africa), Danse Élargie (S. Korea), Festival de Royaumont (France), SPRING festival, Amsterdam Fringe Festival, BUMA Classical Convention (Netherlands), MOCAK (Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow, Poland), all in 2016.
